How To Analyze A Voice Over Script

It can be downright difficult to analyze a voice over script and trying to figure out how to do it can send you down a rabbit hole that you won't ever come out of.

I decided to do a voice over reading for you today that involved a tough script, with many different pauses and implied sections without much instruction so that I could show you how I analyze the script and how I manipulate the words so that it helps me make it read better for me.

Analyzing your script and making strong acting decisions can make the difference between you getting the part, and continuing to get the part, to not getting cast at all.

I did this automatically, spacing it out and wondered if it was the wrong approach and then found your video, I feel validated!

Difficult? Well, you made it look so easy, as usual! Super helpful. Thanks Anthony.

Don't you just hate when you're in the home stretch of a read and you realize you missed a word. in your mind you calmly say, "Son of a gun!" Except you don't say "gun" and you don't say it in your "mind" and not necessarily calmly either. At least you caught it early. Anyway that's how I would broken that script up. It would have been a pain in the rumpus to have tried to read it as presented. For that length of script I would have dropped it into the free version of Easyprompter and adjusted the font and let it auto scroll. Great job!

How do you get on with the dog barking? does the microphone pick it up, and if so how do you remove it in the mix?

This was really interesting to see, you make it look so easy haha! I can't wait to get to a point where I'm dialed in as well as you and editing is a breeze, I know RX Standard will be a big help in smoothing things out for me. Thanks for sharing this!

I might have to watch this one a few more times. There's a lot of info to integrate in this one.
Thanks for this one.

Great video! Quick question. Where would you find scripts to voice over for a demo if you're a beginner and don't have much previous experience?

Hi Anthony...May I ask what do you set your final out the door DB @? it looks like right around-1
And is that your default for every project?
Thanks as always my friend!!

yeah that or color code the script. My eyeballs have a dentancy to latch onto the wrong line. Yeah, that was kinda long! 😉
