How to remove AND install Half Shaft UJoints on my 1987 Corvette

Tools Needed
5/16" Socket to fit a 3/8" drive. 6 point is recommended, but not required.
Pickle Fork or Tie Rod Separator. Both can be rented for free at an auto parts store.
Large socket to remove U-joint. I used 32mm
BFH

U-Joints
Moog 231C
Spicer (made in USA) 5-3615X

It was nice to see that you didn't skip or edit out some footage of the obstacles you encountered . Many will say stuff like it pops right in when that's rarely the case . A parts list would have been nice . Thanks .

QUESTION...my mechanic says my carrier ASSY is in need of new bearings .easier to replace the whole ASSY with used one..? yes /no or where can i purchase one already rebuilt?.. pls advise

3 years ago, so no idea if you'll reply, but i've watched a couple of these and i'm just wondering if you separate the tie rod first, will that give you easier access to the carrier bolts?

At the end of the video you said the clunk noise prompted you to do this repair...did that sound go completely away? I've heard that the "clink" noise starting in reverse, or forward is the teflon washer behind the hub and axle shaft...

Great video...I think this repair is also in my future...I need to change out shocks and I figured universals are probably due....

Next time invert that Castle nut on the Tye rod and strike it with a hammer. That will save the boot.
