I saw Kura-San use that selfie-stick line saver thing in Japan too... totally forgot about that! It was super cool. I sometimes use a stick with a "y" in it for this same purpose.

Another great episode guys!

You are correct, there aren't too many C&R rivers in Japan. Besides Itoshiro I know of the Yukawa 湯川 that flows through the gorgeous Senjogahara 戦場ケ原 moor. The river was stocked with Brook Trout way back in 1902, when 25, 000 Brook Trout eggs were imported from Colorado. They certainly aren't native, but they are wild - as they have been living in the river for well over a century.


I think it's great that Tenkara is awakening a sense of savvy environmentalism here in Japan. Through Tenkara In Focus we get a front seat to history in the making. Keep up the good work!

when the man was showing what gear he had in his tackle bag made me wonder...what bag/pack is that.? I love the size of the bag. Loving your video magazine...even though they are older shows..they are new to me...as is Tenkara fishing
