I'd love to see Bari Weiss leave her lucrative gig grifting people on Substack and get a job as an essential worker. She wouldn't last a week as a nurse, an educator, or driver. It's easy to be "done" with this pandemic from a cloistered ivory tower.

It's okay to be feeling pandemic fatigue; it's not okay to blame the government for being too cautious, or because regular citizens won't mask-up and get vaccinated.

Yes! My mom is a nurse and she said the same thing! The virus has mutated to something less severe. She actually said people should just be exposed so we can get over it! She's a nurse with 3 shots and she gets it. Politicians don't want it to be over because they love the fear and control

Not only did we go to work unvaccinated for a year, we didn't even have the appropriate PPE needed to protect us while caring for our covid patients.
It must be nice to be "over covid" but we wouldn't know because we don't have that luxury. We're still in the thick of it, in large part because of people like that who have just decided they're "over it". Not only are they not part of the solution, they're actively and proudly part of the problem.
Trust me, I know how frustrating this whole thing has been, and how badly we all wish it was over. No one is more ready for this nightmare to end than me and my team, but just because you might be "over covid", covid isn't "over" us. It's happily continuing to take the lives of several hundred of our fellow Americans, every single day. Sadly, this isn't one of those "ignore it and it will go away" type of situations. I wish it was that easy.
"It's not even real anymore."? It's as real as it's ever been; I know because I'm still fighting it, first hand. To say otherwise is a slap in the face to those of us who could walk away and be "over" it, but don't because we refuse to abandon our patients. I could choose the "ignorance is bliss" route, but I won't because it's foolish, selfish, and irresponsible.

About Americans are “done with Covid” too…unfortunately, we may not be done for a long time since so many people won’t get vaccinated. We haven’t failed against the disease as much as we have failed each other, mostly the people who never felt any obligation to their own communities and who made up their mind not to even believe in the reality of the pandemic for the last two years.

What have we've been told during flu season get vaccinated, wash hands, if sick stay home don't go to work, when coughing cover your mouth etc.

Vaccinated dad here, father of 4. I was positive back in December, so were my kids. I had flu like symptoms, my kids had no symptoms. Take what you want from it, my experience. (My kids are not vaccinated, ages 9, 10, 12 and 16)

We are all “done with Covid”. Covid is not done with us. We need to accept that. It will ebb and flow no matter what we feel and how tired we are of it.
