Fr. Joseph Krupp joins Mary on the EDIFY Podcast to examine the possible end of cultural Catholicism and where people of faith should turn their attention.

Fr. Joe’s own Michigan parish was vandalized twice in anti-Catholic attacks. He shares why Catholics need to be ready to face cultural rejection and some practical tips for staying strong in the fight.

Went to a vocations weekend at Saint John Vianny Seminary in Miami in the fall of 2019, and no one there ever really talked about or focused on Jesus either. That angered and upset me greatly, as did their constant talk about theology and philosophy with mentioning Jesus at all. Needless to say, I did not enter into the priesthood.

Another struggle I see for those who want to enter the priesthood is poor reading skills of today’s graduating high schoolers. Seminary is rigorous work with a lot of reading and writing. Sadly most of today’s graduating high school students cannot read well enough to be able to handle the academics within seminary. Their hearts may be in the right place but they cannot keep up with the work. Some don’t even consider becoming a priest because they know they cannot read well. Similarly other students struggle due to poor math skills.

We Catholics need to do a better job at helping struggling students in our K-12 Catholic schools - the earlier the better but those who struggle to read and do math in high school need our help even more! 🙏🏻

Catholic Leadership has brought this on for decades. When they stopped preaching the Gospel and disregard the teaching of Christ which is evil. Jesus says " You are with me or you are against me"

Would you include in your personality, Christless criticism many of the statements and documents Francis has issued. I have heard exactly the same criticism of the way he presents Catholicism to the world. it would seem that many of these criticisms are spot on. How was Christ preached at AbuDabi for example....we could start there. As a life long Catholic, my very narrow personal experience is the destruction of the Church has come more from within than without. This, at my age has been the shock of my life.

Before watching this, I guess I really didn't connect the dots of the Roe decision and the violence against churches, even though I'm quite involved in the pro life movement. This was a wonderful interview. I especially liked the link to teaching history, as a history nerd myself, and how uplifting this was overall.
