The Most Deadliest Kick in Karate (Kyokushin Wheel Kick)

Показать описание
Do Mawashi Kaiten Geri (The Thunder Rolling kick - Wheel Kick )is a complex and advanced spinning kick that is typically performed by experienced martial artists. It involves a 360-degree spin, followed by a sweeping circular kick with the lead leg.

To perform the do mawashi kaiten geri, the practitioner starts in a fighting stance and initiates a spin by pivoting on the back foot. As they complete the spin, they bring their lead leg up and around in a circular motion, striking with foot or instep. The kick is typically aimed at the head, neck, or shoulder of the opponent.

It's an all-or-nothing move with no fallback. Spectacular when it connects, disastrous when it doesn't

Looks like the guys throwing that kick are quick and time it just right. My only concern is if you miss now your vulnerable.

Always love using this kick when the situation calls for it. Osu!!

_Would it be possible_ to disguise the initial motion as a attempt at a leg grab takedown? Try a few feints looking for a takedown and then spring this as they are going for a takedown defence.
And *if you miss, * their expecting a takedown might give you a chance to recover and not be immediately 'stomped' (depending on the arena).

I used to tag people unhygienic face with a straight up spin hook kick or jump reverse side kick. We really didn’t practice the summersault version. But it sure does surprise when it’s thrown!

I don't fear the man who has practiced 1000 kicks...I fear the man who has practiced the same kick 1000 times....

I had to stop throwing spinning heel kicks. I felt bad stunning or knocking people out in training. Best to keep it for when I need it.

Beyond the momentum generated by flipping/rolling forward, the point of contact is the heel of the foot. Nasty!

.... the kicks that's almost certainly never going to be used in real life. But great in theory and test tube, I mean ring

It is the heel that is important. Heel is a solid weapon.

I prefer to train only techniques that are good for self defense so techniques like this where you go to the ground willingly are out. They are similar to some of the leg grabbed counters in Ninomaya Sensei's book "Sabaki Method-- Karate in the Inner Circle.

But they're risky and leave you on the ground.

Wow. From a victim's point of view it looks like the opponent has collapsed, you drop your hands for a better look, only to see a big foot in your head just before the lights go out. Most impressive when used as a counter blow, the exponent ducks and counter kicks simultaneously.

The trick to landing this kick is you have to keep the wind up and telegraph as minimal as possible and you HAVE to do it from up close. Many times the problem is people are trying to whiff it from too far away and you can see it coming five minutes before it gets close. When you learn to set it up from say a clinch break or closing the distance your chances of landing go up white a bit

Am I wrong that in Kyokushin Karate you can not punch the face but you can kick in the face. The kick is way much harder than the punch plus, not only could you severely injure your opponent you could kill him. Just a thought

In kyokushin kaiten geri is dangerous, but in mma if you do not hit the targer you end on the ground and you are in danger.

Not the deadliest, but sneaky and effective.
