Our LAST PASSAGE On Delos (It Sucked)...Sailing Vessel Delos Ep. 467

This is it! As our departure to build Delos 2.0 in Australia creeps closer and closer, it's finally time to make our last sail to Raiatea where we will be hauling Delos out of the water and storing her on the hard. It's a pretty crazy feeling, and there is soooo much to do to prepare the boat and ourselves. But luckily we've got the best crew in the business, and with the help of our tiny captain in training we're able to tick a bunch of boat work off our list. But when the time finally comes to make this last passage, it's far from the magical, unforgettable sail we were hoping for, and the reality is something else ENTIRELY different 🫣

Protect yourself from the sun!

Teaching Sierra systems troubleshooting and repairs is going to be some of the best homeschooling she'll ever receive. Nothing will be too daunting to tackle.

Sierra is getting the love and attention that all kids THRIVE on. She is part of everything that goes on instead of being glued to a tv or phone. She will be an amazing lady as she grows up!

We moved onto a sailboat when our daughter was 14 months old and stayed on it until she was 5. Watching Sierra learn brings back those wonderful memories. When our daughter started 1st grade we put her in a private school and she had to interview with the head of the school. The lady asked her what it was like living on a boat and our daughter proceeded to tell her all about the systems & what had to get done before and after each sail. I didn't even know she knew some of the things she said.

I never get tired of the final shot of Sierra saying “Whoop hoo!” as she rides her bike in the cockpit!

Delos isn't mad at you. She just gives you the reassurance that it's time has come. And you can move on to your next boat. Its her way of saying goodbye to you.

I didn't realize a grown man could be inspired and jealous of a 4 year child... yet here I am!!! It's so awesome being able to see the Nugz growing up and becoming the awesome human being she is. Big ups to both Brian and Kazaa. I hope your channel is around for us all to see how Sierra ends up in her teens... she's going to be an amazing all around knowledgeable Captain!!!

Brian, you are so lucky to have such a helpful assistant. While it may not have sped up any jobs, I bet they were all a lot more fun. ❤

Woo Hoo! That never gets old. I find it fascinating to watch Nugget grow into a real boat mechanic.

I must say, watching you all since well before your marriage, has always been a load of fun. But with the addition of Sierra, it has become such a wonderful mix of sailing, parenting and child curiosity. Sierra makes the whole thing worthwhile and has added a fabulous dimension to your wonderful adventure. Lucky us who get to follow along....

Seriously Brian...your education teachings to Nugget is what is lost in the government run school programs...seriously...I'm 58 and learned my greatest knowledge was the real world knowledge over the books...great father teaching.

Seeing Brian involve and teach Sierra how tools work and how to fix things reminds me of me and my dad 😊 I could work on car engines, change- find a leak- balance and put a new tire on the rim by the time I was in 3rd grade. He continued to involve me in all of his projects and helped me with anything I wanted to try. We had a fantastic relationship that created an unbreakable bond. I ended up marrying a man that is my dad 2.0 and we just celebrated our 27th wedding anniversary yesterday. Don't underestimate what can happen by involving Sierra the way that you are. Great job Brian!!!!

Sierra is going to have so much knowledge, boat smarts, traveling, not to mention she has a lot more common sense at her age and she has plenty of time to learn, and enjoy her young years! Keep up the good work guys!

I work with kids and I always get a little extra happy when Brian involves Sierra when fixing things on the boat. She gets so many different areas of development engaged with little effort. Good parenting! :)

Brian thanks for taking the time to teach Sierra how to fix things and be independent. Best education ever, the ability to fix things yourself. Well done.
