I cry and I sigh, and I look at the sea... ― Sea of Sorrow, lyrics
Christiana Papakosta, an inspiring vocalist and ancient bendir player sing for us the traditional melody "Sea of Sorrow"; it is a song for the sea, and a lover's pledge to its salty waters to bring back home safely her beloved one.
Christiana plays on the Sacred Ancient Bendir, a one-of-a-kind LUTHIEROS frame drum beautifully painted by hand using ink on its leather drumhead. In many cultures, larger frame drums were played mainly in spiritual ceremonies.
The song is a traditional melody, originally titled "Θάλασσα λυπήσου" in Greek, from Anatolia or Asia Minor. The latter is a place of great nostalgia for many Greek families that were forced to flee from these lands during the first half of the 20th century.

// 🎼 Lyrics in Greek
