Okaloosa County Sheriff’s Office: Deputy killed during domestic violence situation

Five-year Sheriff’s Office veteran Corporal Ray Hamilton was shot at about 12:40 Saturday afternoon while responding to a domestic violence incident. Hamilton was taken to a nearby hospital and died from his injuries at about 3 p.m.

Ray was the sweetest person. He never met a stranger. He made everybody feel like they were somebody. It’s so heartbreaking to have lost such a beautiful soul. Anyone who encountered Ray, met a real life Angel. He just got his wings to early.
