I've been using the pro line since 2016 and it's the most beautiful, magical device I have ever used. I mainly use it to draw with and no complaints there but apple really gotta start giving us what we paid for in terms of software, this limitation is just pure bs. There is no excuse to not offer all of the functionality of a full mac os device. Pure greed.

Macs with less than 1GB of RAM had floating windows, so it’ll be ridiculous for Apple to limit it to iPads with 8GB. Limiting it to keyboard and trackpad/ mouse-only makes sense though.

I doubt ipadOS will get floating Windows.

Samsung Tab S7 11" does resizable popup windows and it works very well. You can get 4 phone-sized apps side by side.

i love my m1 ipad pro but i feel like i wasted a ton of money because it has so much power but cant use it all so i paid extra for power thats not usable yet

I feel like it should be available for the iPad mini when plugged into a external display. Perhaps when a window goes onto the mini screen it automatically only snaps as the old way of multitasking with no windows, but when dragged onto an external display it allows windowing. There probably is no technical reason to stop that from happening but i imagine apple want a way of differentiating iPad's from eachother, and making a line between the M1 chip and other iPad's fits my expectation of Apple in this. I would probably upgrade to a iPad pro from my mini if they allow windowing, would effectively treat my home pc as just an iPad and my work PC as just for work. I would love to have one USB connection to the ipad or work laptop and then be able to do multiple monitors with windowing with either device. I would certainly get a lot more out of my iPad that way.

Im def fine if these leaks pan out... extended display support exclusive for M1 iPads makes sense. Although, Im sure my 2020 iPad Pro can handle it.

I’m not sure if you’re familiar with Final Cut Express? Final cut express was a water to down version of final cut pro that was popular back in the early to mid to thousands before Final Cut Pro X came along. Perhaps apple could revive the FCE name for the iPad?

This is the possibility I can see, but then it would be a bummer; until apple like “Here you go”, I feel apple could’ve FCP App, but more like we’ve adobe suit cloud software (On Pc/Mac); So theoretically FCP cloud based app, but manages all your plugins, and projects in the app itself. Without you needing to mess around, or do anything against apple. So technically we could see two FCP Apps on iPad: 1: The FCP itself like we’ve LF. 2: The FCP Cloud app.

I’m not quite sure how will “Terminal “ will play a significant role on the iPad; if at all anything. One thing makes more sense from my perspective. It could help the App Dev fix any issues on the go, since we can “Create, and submit apps on the iPad itself now.”

As for the plugins, that will only work if you’re FCP support both Mac, and iPad integration seamlessly without any hassle. At the moment, apple has no file plugins support on the iPad as we want but could, only if app, e find ps a way via terminal, or the FCP cloud app itself.

Also to note, this will help many people to get a Mac in the first go, since they know FCP on iPad now.

Limiting floating windows to M1 is ridiculous and pure greed. That said I could understand pro apple apps limited to M1. I wish you YouTube tech creators would stop acting like windowed support limited to M1 is acceptable. Y’all don’t actually represent the main customer base at all. Far less processors than anything in Apple’s lineup easily support floating windows. It would come off as a slap in the face to the capabilities and efficiency of iPad OS and iOS.

Wow, that sounds great. For those who got the New M1 iPad Pro last year, with maxed up ram and memory, like myself, I can really do more with it. I got the Cellular option, as it does come in handy when our regular internet service goes down, especially during storms, I can still go online with my I-Pad Pro, and Monday night's storms caused our internet to go down, so I just turned to my Cellular I-Pad Pro to get online.

Apple has been coming out with some awesome Macs, and love the M1 Pro and Max chips, and now the M1 Ultra. That sounds great, and hope it is a go. I did watch the March event, impressed with the Mac Studio, is that the Mac Mini with the higher graphics and CPU power, or is it a new model of computer? The Studio display is much better than the LG display, newer too. Like that you have 3 choices of stand or mount for this studio.
