Welcome aboard Celebrity Ascent, the fourth and final ship of the new Edge class of Celebrity Cruises, designed to offer you a unique and unforgettable cruise experience. Celebrity Ascent is the most innovative and luxurious cruise ship in the Celebrity fleet, with a length of 306 meters and a tonnage of 129,500 tons. It has a capacity of 2,910 guests who can stay in 1,467 cabins and a crew of 1,320 members. Celebrity Ascent is also a model of environmental responsibility and sustainability, with advanced technologies that reduce emissions, save energy and treat wastewater. The Magic Carpet, the world’s first cantilevered floating platform that moves up and down the side of the ship, offering different functions and views depending on the deck it is on.

Celebrity Ascent is ready to sail for its inaugural season in Europe this summer, with itineraries that include the Mediterranean, the Norwegian Fjords, Iceland and Greenland. At the end of the summer season, on October 31st, the ship will depart from Southampton for a 14-night cruise to the Caribbean. From November 15th, it will offer seven-night cruises in the Caribbean from Fort Lauderdale to discover San Juan (Puerto Rico), Philipsburg (St. Maarten), Basseterre (St. Kitts) and Tortola (British Virgin Islands).

Why so many "specialty" restaurants? If the main dining rooms and buffet were top notch, you wouldnt need "specialty" restaurants. I guess the plan is to cheap out on the included dining and provide other options to rake in more dollars.

0:54 Who says gray is better? All the cabins are gray and the color punctuation is too muted. There's a lot of boring style on this ship vs. Celebrity's usual. Trendy doesn't equal better or even more contemporary.

I have issues with the overall design of this class of ships. No observation lounge, a ship this size lacking a library or card room is ridiculous, there are no good intimate music lounges like there are on HAL or Princess ships or Celebrity's previous classes. Almost all the staterooms are gray and while that looks contemporary now, it'll look blah in 7 years or so. The suites are unimaginative and dull in terms of style compared to those on previous Celebrity classes. Contemporary styling does not mean lacking color and everything being neutral and so gray and beige. I can see a redesign in a few years in the suites.
