About 2 Meter Sessions
====================
Based in the Netherlands, 2 Meter Sessions is an independent, ongoing (new) music platform with a great legacy. Monthly we film 3 to 4 sessions with promising and breakthrough acts from all over the world.

Many well-known acts have visited the show; from James Taylor, Elliott Smith and David Crosby to Damien Jurado, Ben Howard and Josh Ritter, via Radiohead, Nirvana, Coldplay and Foo Fighters. Archive footage can regularly be seen in (theatrical) documentary movies, like “Mystify: Michael Hutchence” (with footage of our session with INXS, filmed in 1997), “Heaven Adores You” (with footage of our session with Elliott Smith, filmed in 1998) and “All I Can Say” (with footage of our session with Blind Melon, filmed in 1993).

The show started back in 1987 by radio presenter Jan Douwe Kroeske. On his popular national radio show he persuaded New-Zealand band Crowded House to play a couple of songs. The response of the public was so great, that 2 Meter Sessions quickly became a household name. In 1993, the show made a successful transition to national television. From there the show became a national phenomenon, for over 10 years, with filmed sessions of new talent, breakthrough acts and arrived career artists. Almost a million of 2 Meter Sessions cd’s were sold in the Netherlands.

JM. I agree that he looks tired but you can't say that his vocals are not incredible. What a talent. The band are amazing too. Gone far too soon. I think the fact that it's 2023 and we're still interested and says something. He was a legend and I reserve that word for only the creme de la creme. Rest in fabulousness Michael ❤

INXS was absolutely a great band. Michael is wholly in the running for the best front man of any rock band ever. I'd say he sings technically better than most of the competition in a collision of smoothness and raw power. I'm a big Paul Rodgers fan and he's right there also. But I digress, INXS blended funk guitar grooves with power chords, Andrew's infectious and always tasty keys, Gary's playful, yet heavy and spot-on bottom, and Jon's explosive snare pop to create something beyond by rote rock and roll. Something quite like an impressive mashup of soul, melodic, heavy, emotive, and hooky - real ear candy you keep wanting more of. Gone way too soon as they were still firing on all cylinders making important music. This band had it all and watching this just reinforces my high opinion of them. Excellent, and still relevant today.

I know Michael was at the tail end, but he's still performing balls out. He's a legend. I just hope the younger generation will realize how special he was❤

INXS were a band that absolutely could’ve turned around in the 2000’s and had a comeback. Much of their work is uniquely timeless and well-produced. Michael Hutchence never should’ve gone so soon.

The spark In the eyes from yesteryear has gone but he and they were still performing to an amazing level. It's quite obvious now looking back that he was in trouble but hindsight is great. RIp to one of the best. There'll never be another Michael Hutchence.

It's may 2024 and still love Michael as much now as I did then. My heart broke the day he took himself out of our lives 💔
