I was born in the U.K. to Irish parents, so I didn’t learn Irish at school. I realised that I speak French as a second language better than I can speak the language of my ancestors. I can sing La Marseillaise, but I couldn’t sing Amhràn na bhFiann, which I thought was so sad, so I set about learning it and the beautiful, ancient language of the Gaels. I’ve really enjoyed watching your explorations of the nuances of Gaeilge. Go raibh maith agat.
