In other countries teaching is a career that draws respect, sadly here I feel we are treating them as ablative shielding.

An Ofsted Inspector woke up to find his house on fire. He ran outside in a panic, a broke his ankle only to realise that he'd left his wife & children inside. A man walking past said 'Don't panic, I'll save them!' & ran inside. After some desperate minutes, the man emerged carrying the wife over his shoulder. He put her down on the lawn. 'My children are in there too' screams the Ofsted Inspector and the man rushes back into the furnace. He emerged again with two kids, one under each arm. One of the kids cried 'What about Benji?' 'Oh no ' said the Ofsted Inspector 'The dog is in the kitchen in his basket!' The man said 'Don't worry' and rushes back inside again. Bringing the dog out in his arms, the wife wakes up and screams 'My jewels! They're the only thing left of my dear mother!' & the man turns and runs back inside the firey burning house. He reappears with a jewel case and collapses exhausted on the lawn next to the wife, the kids the dog and the Ofsted Inspector.
The fire brigade arrive and the Chief thanks the man for his bravery recommending him for an award.
The kids cry and hug the man for saving Benji.
Benji licks the man's nose. Everybody laughs.
The wife says 'Thank you so much for saving my family. You are so brave'
The Ofsted Inspector says 'So, tell me how you think that went, and how you could have done it differently?'
