Quit Dentistry to Travel

Показать описание
Since childhood, all I knew was travel: a new city & a new start every 2 years. When I decided to pick up dentistry, I never knew that I would have to open a clinic & be in one place forever & ever after. During my internship, I realised that good practice management was key to a successful dental life.🤝
To find a hack around it, I gave NEET MDS only so that I could get into the armed forces. But I ended up with a rank of 4444. Obviously, it was not a good rank, but I was very fixed that travel was what I was going to do for the next 30-40 years of my life.🎯
So I decided to explore, but that exploring did not just come easy. It was just me who had no idea where I wanted to be. But I kept talking to people to know more options. That’s when I ended up on LinkedIn where I explored the healthcare industry, and what kinds of jobs existed & I was overwhelmed.🥺
But despite the confusion, I was really excited to explore what was out there for me because clinical dentistry was not it for ME. So whatever opportunities I could find, I kept applying & luckily the first role that I landed was of a business development associate for a cancer care company, where I had to WFH.🥹🙌
I gradually grew up in the non-clinical industry to the level where I would get to travel on my job where I had the flexibility to work from home & travel.😍
Yes, I admit that I was fortunate to switch during Covid which is why I ended up with multiple WFH opportunities. However, even in WFO. opportunities, there are a lot of roles that provide you the flexibility & PTO that you require to take the vacation that you need.😅
So if you’re someone like me who is working in the healthcare industry & wants the flexibility to travel, then nonclinical jobs are for you. & I am just not one example there are multiple examples that I know of; there is @anubhakarol97 , who quit clinical medicine became a medical writer, & is now travelling the world.🤌🏻🌍
When I went on the four-island tour in Thailand, the only thing I could register was, that I did not want to die before seeing the rest of the world. I know that this was just one trip. I don’t know if I will have more trips like this, but I really really do hope that I get the opportunity to see the world.
So if you want to travel & work, it's 2024 & the world is your oyster, do whatever you want. No matter how much they shame you, listen to what your heart says, & if you want to travel, travel as much as you can, because you just have the next 30 to 40 years to do that, okay bye. 🥺🫰🏽🫶🏽
