In this video, Levy Rosman did not, in fact, neglect the stare. He purposefully removed it to make the statement that all things are finite in this universe, and we should treasure the things we have and the people we love dearly.

I give this statement a 10/10 in lieu of the usual stare score

I have actually accidentally discovered this months ago thinking "Imma try doing the Vienna with Black" and nobody expected it, now your video will prepare everyone. Thanks

You probably won't see this Levy, but I'm a huge fan of your videos! I'm actually the head instructor at my school's chess club, and my students love you. If you ever have the time, or need an opponent for a video like this, I'd be happy to play! My kids would go berserk and I think they would all pay attention for once, lol.
Edit: thx so much for the likes!

Petition for Levy to create community polls every day so we can rate his stares

I’m around 1150 ELO and I always find it funny how I can prepare effectively against a majority of my opponents simply by studying lines that counter whichever opening Levy has most recently posted a video about. You’re influence is greater than you know, Levy!

Thank you for giving more recognition to this opening, originally watched on remote chess academy but this was way more in-depth

today's opening stare was in another dimension probably. 10/10

As a proud owner of E4 New York style, I love how it is literally the Vienna with black. He mentioned the original set up is similar (with white obviously having the extra bishop move), but a lot of the later moves and ideas are really similar

As a bishop, I can confirm that this opening goes hard.

Thank you for your videos! They accompany for over 2 years now and motivate me to improve at chess and keep following the world around it. I plan on playing in tournaments in the future. Today I even visited my first chess tournament and I’m still smiling ^^ I went to the women’s grand prix in munich and seeing all those players so close was amazing and exciting (I was wondering whether you’d cover them or not🙈)! So thank you again for everything you do for this community! ☺️

Levy the way you covered the opening was perfect. So concise and thorough.

While I was studying the traxler, I discovered this opening, but I didn't have time to really look into it. I'm glad you're making this video

I started playing chess few months ago, knew how pieces move since I was a kid, but never really got into it.

I started just playing and it was terrible. And just when I was about to give up thinking it’s just impossible to win Levy just pops out in youtube.

And here I am, going from 300 elo to 580 in last two weeks. Thank you Levy for theese incredible lessons!

In watching a precious GTE vid, Gotham decried his sub for playing exactly this, saying "I don't know what Gotham Sub is doing. Maybe they think they're playing a Reverse-Vienna Gambit, cuz this is kinda like the Vienna, but this is 'poopy buns.' All this move does is lose a pawn. You can't play the Reverse Vienna; that's not how chess works." A year later he makes a video over this exact gambit.

I simply love the fact that we have additional video evidence of Gotham growing as a person. Love all of your vids, GC. (I also just happened to be watching older GTE videos (favorite series on YT, indeed) and recognized the structure of the gambit, having recently watched this video not too long ago.)

Fifty years ago I earned a USCF rating of 1650, but haven't played tournament chess since. I really enjoy your videos and your humor. Learned a lot from you and scraped off some rust. THANX👍
