My husband of 35 years died a few weeks ago. He was an atheistic Jew. But he lived his life as if God was real. The one thing he couldn’t stand was anybody thinking he had done an immoral thing.

He called up suppliers if they forgot to bill us or undercharged us. He was a better Catholic than I was and he didn’t even know it.

All men and women were equal in his eyes. He knew the toll booth guy, the cashier, their worries and family. He really had the love of Christ in his heart. But he never accepted Jesus and that has been breaking my heart. Thank you for this consolation

This is something similar to what the pope said recently; "all religions are a path to God and salvation". That is a heresy. "The gate is narrow… the only way to the father is through me". In other words, he is using an "inclusive" ideology; 2+2 = 5. This gets into very dangerous territory. Some believe the pope committed heresy with that. But I do agree that God's grace is for everyone, but to say that a lack of belief in Jesus Christ, as long as you have good Will, we'll get you to heaven, is not scripture.

Vatican II surely opened the windows to the Vatican, and let Satan in. This isn't the Catholic faith, which teaches that it's possible for non-Christians to be saved *IF* they are Invincibly ignorant and live a life where they follow the moral law God puts in our heart, but it is extremely difficult for a non-Christian to receive the beatific vision, it's already difficult for Christians to avoid hell, imagine how much harder itvis for someone who doesn't know Christ.
