Hello everyone! Welcome to an opening video on the Rousseau Gambit. This is a fantastic opening/gambit against the Italian Game. It is very tricky, and an unprepared and unsuspecting opponent will 100% have trouble playing against this opening, and probably crumble under the pressure. Enjoy playing this opening, and have fun!

Please like and subscribe, I would really appreciate it!

You did a good job showing the vulnerabilities in these lines. Most tutorials I've seen on this opening didn't explain the vulnerabilities on your side, they mostly show how you're going to butcher your opponent.

⚠1:45 Don't take the Knight if it goes to d4 ! Qh5+ is deadly. Simply develop your knight in f6.

Every channel that covers this line talks about 2..f5 as if it's something special. How so? Simply 3 d3 to reach an improved K.G.D. with reverse colors or fight for an even bigger advantage with 3d4!? Both 3d3 and 3d4 are very natural and easy to find. Only E:f and Nc3 get white in trouble.
Why recommend 2...f5 when it will ultimately get players rated 500 - 1500 in bigger trouble than they would normally
since their king with be worse off after playing ...f5. If they simply play 2...Nf6 and learn the ideas of how to defend against Ng5 sorties, they should be fine. This is a snake oil line designed to lure non discriminating players into risking everything when it is completely unnecessary and unwise to do so.
