Dock shooting is my jam for bass jigs, panfish jigs and floats with ice jigs and wax worms. Need the right action rod to be effective. The side arm and old baseball submarine cast are also specialties. We have a river in NW IL called the Des Plaines (pronounce the S in Des...it's the Chicago area we butcher a lot of words) and it was too polluted for a long time. It's slowly becoming quite the urban gem.

I always thought that was a bow and arrow cast. Every fisherman's dream; have a monster hit te bait as it dangles from a cast gone wrong. Loved seeing one of my home waters.

The river burned in the late 60s. The clean water act hit in the early 70s. The river has been rating pristine by the State and Federal EPA since the mid 80s.
