It is said that Beglik Tash is a place where powerful energy flows and cosmic forces intersect 💫 our interest was piqued so we decided to stop off on our way to Sozopol. This ancient Thracian sanctuary has been compared to Stonehenge. With a 2 Lev (90p) entry fee it’s certainly great value for money and we enjoyed our time there. But did we leave with positive vibes??

Really enjoyed seeing this amazing place with you both. It felt very peaceful and spiritual, and reminded me a little of Clava Cairns near Inverness, but on a bigger scale. The chopped stone was very interesting and my goodness some of those stones were huge! Well done for getting through that gap - it looked like something off Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom! Thanks as always for sharing and all the hard work - it’s hugely appreciated 👏🙂

Quinine is meant to stop them biting you. There is quinine in tonic water, so lots of gin and tonic might help 😅, you’re welcome 😉xxx

Passing through rock holes and rifts is a common ritual among the Turkic people. It's a remainder of the shamanistic religion times. Original Bulgars were a Turkic people too. But even Muslim Turks still practice this rituals in villages etc.

I guess, the name of this place is given by the Bulgaria Turks. "Beglik" means "Seigniory" . A kind of governing body which belongs to a lord. It can be short for "Beglik Tax" I don't know if there was a kind of tax called Beglik tax. But I believe what's said in the video. "Beglik Tash" literally means "Lordship Stone". It can be understood as "The stone that represents the lordship."
