After watching your video my wife and I decided to visit the school and dimitry on our honeymoon, the queues outside of Dimitry’s store is running down the street, the guy can’t keep up with the demand but luckily we were able to get some belts made😂.

The 10 euro belt is probably made from bonded leather, which is leather scraps ground up and glued together. It can look like leather and have a leather sent, but it does not wear like a genuine leather skin.

Great video. I am a leathercrafter myself, successful at creating items, but lately not so successful in selling them. Regardless, I really enjoy the hobby, I've made multiple purses, handbags, wallets, 1 belt (for me), and also straps for shofars. Most important of all is integrity in this and every business, so you have a happy, satisfied customer.

Funny, I've given away so many items to family and friends, I have to say it makes me more excited seeing the joy in their eyes than having the cash in my pocket.

I was in Florence in early November and visited the nice leather shop/school on the second floor of the church. I spoke to the same lady you were talking to. She was really nice. I bought a wallet off of her; paid cash and she gave me a good deal on it. She told me about the free engraving so I ended up putting my initials on my wallet.

So happy to see this, I was in Florence a couple months ago and I was overwhelmed by the number of leather stores around selling the same thing and all the sales people were South Asian origin. I didn't believe these could all be real, or at least not good quality so I came back empty handed.

Excellent video thank you! I got a leather belt in an Italian shop in 2005 and although it no longer fits, it still looks and feels great. One day will wear it again. The experience of meeting the person who makes the items for sale, smelliing that wonderful smell and seeing leather work being done in the shop will always stay with me. ❤
