Literally would have been the most calm press conference ever😂

It didn’t happen because they were both at the top and the ufc isn’t gonna cut one money train for the other when they can have 2 money trains. Someone had to lose 🤷‍♂️

The most respectful press conference would’ve happened

Silva got that soft voice like Mike Tyson but they're both hard as nails

It’s crazy because as we see today, if Silva and GSP were at the peak now, the ufc would’ve done that super fight right away. Back then the ufc was following boxing’s rules of don’t let the best fight the best because it limits super stars, but they learned that the fans would rather have good fights than tons of stars

The biggest injustice in MMA history was GSP vs Anderson Silva not happening

People forget Silva went up in weight 3 times during his title reign and destroyed the LHWs he fought, 1 of them being a former champion. And MW to LHW is the biggest weight jump in the UFC at 20 lbs. Also one of his earlier opponents missed weight, making that fight a non title fight even though Silva was champ, and even though Silva smoked him, it doesn’t count as a title defense because the opponent missed weight. His run as champion was insane, and you can tack another 4 wins onto that in reality when you consider what I was just talking about.

George wanted to get compensated greatly and UFC didn't met is wants. George is pretty open about it.

Either silva would've brutally koed him in the stand up. Or gsp would've out wrestled him and won the decision. But prime silva idk man he could've ended gsp with vitor belfort front kick type finish dude was magical

Silva and gsp were just like “cmoonnn we can both win no need for that ahh”

When 2 great fighters get in the ring it takes a heavy toll you know it's going to be crazy. They often are never the same again because it's like the toughest fights of their lives.

He said never but GSP said differently. Said they were in talks but GSP said he had terms and he wanted 🕷️ to take a drug test

We all know that guy became a fan during the "Conor era"

Silva was my brother's favorite fighter and gsp was mine. Just let the legends enjoy retirement.

At one Silva suggested 178 because 170 was unrealistic for him this late in his career. It's a shame that we never got to see it...

Let's be real back then both of those divisions were stacked with talented fighters. Both GSP and Silva were huge draws on the cards. They both can main card a PPV. Keeping them seperate meant they had more options to keep tickets sales up on PPVs. It came down to money two high quality champs make for better sales than them constantly fighting each other. Glad it didn't happen as they didn't need it.
