Jervis McEntee: A collection of 77 paintings (HD)

Description: "Jervis McEntee studied art under Frederick Church in NYC from 1850-51 and was a member of the Hudson River School. In 1858 he opened his own studio in NYC. His works are typically small and detailed and would occasionally include passages of poetry when exhibited. His landscapes of rural New York, particularly the Catskill Mountains were painted in colors of autumn and winter with a melancholy mood. However, his style did change a little to include some Impressionistic techniques. McEntee was elected an associate member of the National Academy in 1860 and became a full member the following year. He died in 1891."

Especially love his landscapes that include a tiny figure, sometimes with a dog. He had such an interest in showing the drama and beauty of the land, and how we are just so minuscule and a fleeting presence. Thank you.

Hello, my name is Yuki McEntee and Jervis was my great great great uncle. I've never seen several of these paintings. I'd like to know where you were able to attain these for this video. I would love to have copies. I know most of the originals are at the Smithsonian, donated my by great grandmother. Please contact me 🙏 I did not know how to contact you so this is why I am leaving this comment. Thank you! 😊
