My dash cam has saved me so much that I can't imagine not having one at this point. I have gotten out of bogus tickets and citations, I have captured some really stupid stuff and I have also ended a law suit before it even started by just showing the camera to the other person's lawyer. I have given my video to police who were investigating a big rig crash and it helped them find out who was at fault. I had one on my motorcycle and it saved me 10 times over when police officers "mistakenly" pulled me over for many different things. I never drive without one.

I've given my SD card to a cop at the scene of an accident where the driver at fault was lying to the cop to make it appear as the other guy that caused the wreck. I told the cop that I didn't see everything, but my dashcam did. I also had my laptop and was able to make a copy for the other driver as well. Talk about a very grateful guy and the person that was actually at fault was pissed. The cop was able to watch the footage right there with my laptop.

Moral of the story, never lie to a cop. I'm sure he got more tickets than he would have if he hadn't lied LOL.
