You killed it in 2022 Sandy!
My goal for 2023 is lots more book shopping with you :)

That’s a great idea to surprise yourself with how many books you read for the year! Sounds like you had an amazing reading year!

So excited you’re joining in on Flannery O’January! I read Everything That Rises Must Converge this year and it’s one that has really stuck with me. Can’t wait to hear your thoughts!

When it comes to my GR goals I just set it and forget it. Even GR seems to know I'm not serious. My focus this year will be on carving out reading time by cutting out timewaster activities. (I 'waste' a lot of time, so it's doable.) I hope you have a wonderful Christmas and a Happy New Year!

I totally love the idea of having the surprise at the end of the year! I was going to set my goal for 1 for 2023 lol but now I think I won't set one! Thanks for that idea!

Great to hear about your goals, both old and new! Good luck with all your reading plans for 2023! I’m definitely going to try to not put too much pressure on myself! Famous last words! 😂📚🎄

Empire of Pain was my favorite nonfiction of 2022 . I hope there are some buddy reads for 2023.

My reading was a little iffy this year. The first half, I was in a major slump and read practically nothing. The second half, I started knocking out some shorter books alongside my normal stuff, and averaged 10 books a month, which was great, because they were all books I wanted to get to. Sadly, I only had 3 or 4 five-star reads in the whole year. Hopefully, 2023 will be better!

Great to hear that nonfiction was so successful for you in 2022! Well done on your goals!

Interesting video. Reading is not a competitive sport, reading with the number that is comfortable for you is better than over reading and not enjoying it. I've read 75 books this year (I did set a Goodreads goal... 72... I expect I'll set a GR goal next year, too but not sweat if I fall behind or read a lot of short books...). Good luck with your 2023 reading.

I set a Goodreads goal, but I always set it super low (usually I end up reading almost double the books as the goal), so I don't find pressure to read more books then I naturally would. But I know the first year I was on Goodreads I didn't set a goal so I could naturally see how much I read.

Young Mungo is a very good read. I'll have to check out Empire of Pain. What a great book year Sandy.

You read a lot of books! An average of two books a week is way too much for me. I've definitely been cutting down on the amount of books I'm reading. I'm also on a book buying ban. It's all about my shelves next year.

Empire of Pain sounds brilliant. The Book Club is an awesome way to read specific books. I am rubbish at Discord as well. I find it tricky to navigate. I also want to be more consistent with posting next year. Life can make consistency on booktube tricky but we have lives and people understand! My aim is to not overload myself because of FOMO but I’ve already broken that! Lovely plans for a great reading year ahead! 🤍
