Crazy Design: Yeston RX 7900 XTX Sakura Sugar GPU Review & Benchmarks

preview_player
Показать описание
The Yeston RX 7900 XTX Sakura Sugar uses AMD's GPU at the core, but straps a wild color theme to the front and goes into surprising depth with creating entire characters around its cards. The Sakura Sugar 7900 XTX isn't just a video-friendly meme card, though. In our in-depth thermal, noise, power, and gaming benchmarks, we found that it has many of the qualities that a "normal" black-and-red "gamer" card might have. This review includes the tear-down, benchmarks, and thoughts on whether the card is worth it. Note that the price seems to fluctuate frequently on this one. At the time we wrote the script, we saw it available for $1070. Now, it appears to be $1250. You'll have to judge if it's worth it depending on when you check!

(Quick update too -- the price is all over the place on this card since it seems like there's no consistent supply to the Western market. We've seen it from $1070 to $1250, so tweak your judgment based on the price wherever you'd buy)

Since EVGA's departure from the video card market Yeston is now my favourite video card 3rd party.

No joke, I absolutely would rock a build with that card.

I absolutely adore that they've worked in characters and lore into their products. I'm not even an anime fan, but I think there's something so charming about this kind of marketing.

We need more Yestons in the PC space. Unique and intriguing designs are just so refreshing.
I honestly want one. Am already thinking of ditching my 2080 TI and upgrading, but a 1k price tag is steep. So I have to save up for a while first. That said, I definitively would want a Yeston card. I LOVE those!

The Yeston product reviews always seem to make me smile. I wish they were more prominent in the us.

This is phenomenal. I hope the market for custom cards like this comes back in the USA and elsewhere.

Have to say I dig it. Not my "thing" but I get it. I really like that they are actually almost "Leading" the market in this respect. Yes you see Asus and the like do Gundam and Evangelion themed stuff, but that is just borrowing branding. Yeston has went a step further and made the product a part of its anime lore by default. In this day and age it wouldnt be to hard for a company as big as some of these others to offer "printed" to order themed stuff in a similar fashion for whatever theme people want to shoot for. With Official licensing stuff tied in, rather then just some "bootleg" backplates that are technically copyright and trademark infringements that litter Ebay Ali and Wish.

Would 100% buy one if Yeston decides to expand their market to Europe. Definitely one of the best looking cards ever aesthetically, guaranteed you are into this type of style.

I was not expecting the Yeston lore, but I love that it exists. I also hope this kind of looks + performance style catches on. So much better than your run of the mill RGB + black and red designs.

I picked up the Yeston “wedding” waifu card for a build after seeing the GN review for that card. It has been reliable, and I love the over the top look. I’m glad to see reviews of more out-there products like Yeston’s cards.

They totally should put in the characters in the card. If you're buying the card you know what you like.
Hopefully the invasion goes smoothly, your review is probably part of their master plan.

I genuinely love this GPU. Not the exact GPU itself, but the idea of it. I’d love to see more of this in the GPU market, whether that’s Waifu GPUs or just better branded cards from IPs that make sense and actually bring something different to the table. I’m sick of the same old gamer design aesthetic. There’s definitely room in the market for cards like this from more established brands IMO. Thanks again Steve and GN team. Edit: If you can’t test the efficacy of CANDY SWEETHEART INVASION PLANS then why am I even here? You’re meant to be Gamers Nexus!

You are forgetting the small but passionate group of girl gamers like myself who would KILL for cute shit like this. Like you said, everything is usually black and "gamer boy"-themed. It's about time we get something with pastel colours, cats and cute little clouds. This has been lacking for ages. I hope they will keep making products! Lots of us girls love it!

Thanks for continuing to cover these, it's a bit of a breath of fresh air in the PC world. Some other aesthetic than "gamer."

Jesus those VRMs are insane. 20 phases (no idea how they divide it) of 70A top-of-the-line stuff from monolithic, just to power a 7900XTX? That's more than overkill, jeez. This thing right here, at least from its component choices, plays up right there with other top of the line 7900XTX from other manufacturers. This stuff is flagship quality.

With how vertical mounting has become a selling point for newer cases, I'd love if they made a new version of the Cute Pet GPU.

I've always been drawn by things like Gigabyte's "VISION" series because of how non-gamer it looked. Yeston continues to impress me with their color palettes and I may genuinely considering grabbing one of their cards when I need an upgrade. Pastels are a super unique and underutilized color pallete in computer hardware imo and I'm all for seeing more! Between this and Chi-Fi IEMs having waifus, I'm interested to see how much the idea expands.
