Learn how to make dynamic 3D models using parameters in Fusion 360!

In this video we'll be looking at how to leverage the parameter features in Fusion 360 in order to create a model that can be completely shaped by changing a few variables. This can allow you to create a design that can be easily tweaked to suit multiple purposes.

One of the best YouTube tutorials I've ever seen--for anything. I run at 1.5 speed (which is perfect) and slow down when needed. I will be checking out your other Fusion 360 tutorials.

i KNEW, fusion could do parameters.
learnd it within 3 minutes.
THANK YOU SO MUCH

For those already familiar with Parametric design in other software. Design table/Global Variable list is located in:

Modify > Change Parameters

Thanks for the video, grea for all levels.

I know I'm like four years late, but THANK YOU SO MUCH - this is the clearest explanation of parameters and how to effectively use them in Fusion 360 I've seen!

A really simple, clear and concise overview of parameters, just what I needed to get started, many thanks for putting this together!!

This video is great! I've been learning Fusion 360, but I'm coming from OpenSCAD, so having variables makes me feel much more at home.

6 years later and still super useful. I've been doing it all wrong, using a calculator to line things up lol. Thanks for the vid!

Really useful, not sure why I haven't seen anyone use this feature in the hours of tutorials I've seen.

Great tutorial Garrett, thanks for sharing.
I've recently got into Fusion 360, so keen to soak up as much as I can ... Off to watch the rest of your playlist now.

It's so easy! I love Fusion 360! I wish I'd gotten started on it much sooner.

Sweet, I've primarily been using fusion for its cam, but have been wanting to model stuff, this is going to save so much time.

Simple to the point, picked up a couple of keyboard shortcuts (I'm really new to Fusion) thanks for the vid.

Thanks man. Haven't played with variables in parametric designs much but can really see the value.

Great straight forward tutorial! Parameterization is the key to optimization.

Thanks for the tut., learned a bunch of things I wasn't aware of! I enjoy your teaching style too. :)
One of the learning curves with fusion 360 is figuring out you can use constraints and dimensions so your first run of making the geometry can be fast and a rough sketch with inaccurate dimensions, which is constrained later into the final accurate dimensions.

best explanation and demonstration of parametric modelling - my own light globe has gone on - thanks

I couldn't find the parameters in the menus. This helped. Now, I'm curious if Fusion 360 can handle parametrically adding support. Say for instance I have a cabinet model and it requires a a support piece every 10 inches, or I'm building a kayak and it needs a rib every 12 inches. I wonder if I can dynamically have those ribs or supports be automatically added, as the size of the model grows... Or would I just have to manually add them, using parameters to specify (default) spacing... Otherwise, I'm thinking generative design might apply to this concept?
