So they added the Chaos Bolt effect to Chromatic Orb
That's actually really neat

I love spellcasters getting even more powerful, surely this won't just widen the divide between Casters and Martials even more to an obscene degree.

I think on-hit “no save, just suck” effects are a lot more common amongst PC options now. I hope the same isn’t going to be that common for monsters, because that’d make barbarians feel like miserable noodles getting tossed around and debuffed by every single monster in the manual

Having no-save spells is not a good thing...
Always remember that everythong you character can do can be done to your character. As such a bunch of no-save spells means a bunch of spells that the DM can use to fuck up your party.

So spells get stronger and martials either remained the same or got weaker. YAY BALANCE!

So good they buffed casters, I was afraid that martials are too strong

Chromatic Orb became Chromatic Pinball.
_Glorious._

So Wizards get access to something with the same effects as Chaos Bolt now. That's. The _only_ Sorcerer exclusive spell. Interesting.

Spells that required an attack roll and also a failed save on top of that were too weak I'm glad they slightly buffed them.

I'll never forgive them for what they did to Inflict Wounds.

Do note that chromatic orb must be upcast to do that, and each level you upcast adds an extra potential bounce as well as the ectra damage.
So at lvl 2 it can bounce to a 2nd enemy, lvl 3 it can bounce to 3, etc.

Yay, language learning on top of D&D learning :D

Chaos bolt bounce on Chromatic is nice. But back in the day if a spell required an attack roll (ray of enfeeblement) the target usually didn't get a saving throw. Ray of enfeeblement use to be one of my favorite spells. Now though. Blindness / deafness and Darkness on my Rogue / Sorcerer multiclass. All about them sneaks baby.

I'm glad the first and second level spells are getting some love. Because of up casting should have some good effects

Looks at inflict wounds. Yeah. Huge buffs.

Meanwhile in pathfinder: Leveled spells are based on character level and scale regardless of upcasting (which you can't do), making every spell be effectively upcast for free.

look at ray of sickness when combo'd with summon undead, it's a 2 hit auto paralyze

So this is just half pf2, but all the safety nets but not the costs. Everything feels less costly and the power creep does worry me.

I've noticed low-level spells outlive their usefulness after about 3rd level spells. Only the ones added later, like Silvery Barbs continue to be useful all they way through.

Hey, there's a survival combo that seems to be OP in the revised edition.

Take the Guide background to get Metamagic (Druid). With that, take the new cantrip Elementaler and the 1st level sprll Goodberry. We all know that the latter makes up to 10 people full for a day, but the former's water ability gives us the power to fill a cup full of water for a minute... meaning that you can serve food and drink for the party regardless what class you are.
