This really isn't an even competition since we're comparing a Hot-Rod Strat with Humbuckers/Floyd to a Single Coil Strat with a non-locking Trem. Both are great for their intended purposes, but it's kinda like comparing a 3-Series to a Camry lol

Single coils vs Humbuckers, Rosewood vs Maple, 5 way-switch vs 3 way-switch, 3 control-knobs vs 1 control-knob, 2-point tremolo vs Floyd-Rose tremolo.

Cool playing dude. Love the Charvel. I also have a made in Japan model. Fitted a push pull coil tap. Completely transformed an already awesome guitar into something very special indeed. Those Di Marzio's sound better than most humbuckers in single coil mode.

Charvel, Fender's volume knob is a huge flaw

the strat sounds better to me the charvel is cool but sounds like a lot of other guitars ie ibanez

It's completely in the pick-ups. It depends on what YOU want to play. The Charvel has a heavier humbucker sound. The strat is more bluesy and warm.

i have same guitars :) and my favorite one is charvel so cal, same color as yours. But for this video i must say your strat playing is more emotional, and feels better. Great jobs you do as always..

I have a question about the Fender Strat Standard: I'm thinking about buying on ewith Custom Shop 69 pick ups, but I want to play songs from artists like Yngwie Malmsteen or other hard rock bands. Would you still recommend the strat?

Good video I have a MIM Charvel SoCal and its an amazing guitar but my Shawbucker strat is better in my opinion. The Fender is so versatile and the sound is very clear. My SoCal is heavier and sound thin when compared to my Strat. Just my two cents both are great guitars anyway.

I got the so cal style hh on its way from sweetwater! I got the slime green. I have a Mexican standard strat that I love but I'm super excited to have a Floyd rose and the Seymour Duncan's and the simplistic controls. Do you feel like the overall tone options are as good on the charvel as the strat? Either way I can't wait for this thing, nice playing man.
