One Piece is a Japanese anime and manga series created by Eiichiro Oda. It follows the adventures of Monkey D. Luffy, a young pirate with the dream of becoming the Pirate King by finding the legendary treasure known as the One Piece. Luffy gains the ability to stretch his body like rubber after eating a Devil Fruit called the Gum-Gum Fruit. Along the way, he builds a crew called the Straw Hat Pirates, each with their own dreams and unique abilities, including Zoro, Nami, Usopp, Sanji, Chopper, Robin, Franky, Brook, and Jinbe.

The series is set in a vast world filled with islands, seas, and diverse cultures. The story explores themes of friendship, freedom, ambition, and the pursuit of dreams, with the Straw Hat crew taking on powerful enemies like the Marines, Warlords, and Emperors of the Sea. It is known for its deep world-building, intricate storytelling, and emotional moments. One Piece has become one of the most successful manga and anime franchises globally, with a dedicated fanbase and significant cultural impact.

Roronoa Zoro, also known as "Pirate Hunter Zoro," is the swordsman of the Straw Hat Pirates in One Piece. He is Luffy's first crewmate and serves as the crew's combatant. Zoro dreams of becoming the world's greatest swordsman to honor a promise made to his childhood friend, Kuina. He is known for his incredible strength, unwavering loyalty, and distinct fighting style called Santoryu, or Three-Sword Style, where he wields three swords simultaneously—one in each hand and one in his mouth.

Zoro's dedication to his goal is unmatched, and he often trains rigorously to improve his skills. His personality is a mix of seriousness and humor, as he can be fiercely determined in battle but also hilariously directionally challenged, often getting lost even on straight paths. Despite his rough demeanor, Zoro has a strong sense of honor and deeply values his crewmates, willing to make great sacrifices for them.

Some of Zoro's most iconic battles include his duels with Mihawk, the world's greatest swordsman, and his fights against powerful foes like Mr. 1, Kaku, and King. Zoro's resilience is a defining trait; he endures immense pain and continues fighting without complaint, as seen during the Thriller Bark arc when he takes all of Luffy's pain and fatigue to protect his captain.

Zoro's journey is one of growth, both as a swordsman and a person, as he strives to achieve his dream while supporting Luffy's quest to become the Pirate King. His cool demeanor, incredible combat skills, and sense of loyalty make him one of the most beloved characters in the series.

Zoro's sense of direction, or rather his lack of it, is one of the running jokes in One Piece. Despite being an incredibly skilled swordsman and one of the most reliable members of the Straw Hat crew in combat, he is hilariously bad at finding his way. This trait often leads to comedic moments where Zoro gets lost even in the simplest situations, such as walking in a straight line or following someone right in front of him.

His directional issues are so extreme that he can end up in completely unexpected places. For example, he has been known to wander into enemy territory accidentally or show up in the middle of someone else’s battle while trying to find his own way. This quirk has even led to misunderstandings and funny encounters with characters who are confused by his sudden appearance.

Zoro's crewmates, especially Nami and Sanji, often scold or tease him for his poor navigation skills. However, it’s a trait that fans love about him, as it adds a humorous and relatable side to his otherwise stoic and serious personality. Despite this flaw, Zoro always manages to find his way back to the crew, either through sheer luck or by stumbling upon the right path after countless wrong turns.

Another amazing theory I heard is- since his cursed sword 'leads' people to the 'Death's Path', Zoro never takes the correct path, hence why he isn't affected by its curse.

I think It's symbolism for why he won't be pirate king. He has no direction. Only ambition. That's why he follows Luffy who has a clear goal in mind.
