Follow along our recipe to learn how to trim and tie the beef tenderloin, set up the Pit Boss, season, smoke, and baste with a garlic herb butter, and reverse sear it to a perfect medium rare.

Learn how to prepare a perfectly SMOKED Beef Tenderloin on the smoker. First, we will season and smoke the beef tenderloin using our Pit Boss Pro Series 1150 pellet grill. Not only does the recipe look great, the recipe is available to print. I often watch videos and try to take notes along the way. Mad BAckyard saves me all the time and I have a paper copy of what to do. Love it!!!

Alright everyone… I was able to pick up an 8.5lb tenderloin at Walmart marketplace on special that more or less said… COOK THIS TODAY… it was discounted down to $11/lb so I had to try this recipe. Followed this video to a T with the horseradish sauce. It came out a little on the medium rare side but was fine for my whole family. We ate this with Lobster tails (new years tradition) and my family said, hands down the steak was better than the lobster. I used a smoke tube with this as well and it was just amazing… Thank you Mad Backyard for sharing this video!

Just got a pit boss Lexington and I’ve been watching your videos for 2 weeks now, did the burgers yesterday and now I’m waiting for my tenderloin to reach 110°F at 103° as I’m typing this

So after looking at about 10 different videos, I chose to follow yours the closest. I have a combo Pit Boss(one side propane, one side pellet). Used and additional smoker tube. Smoked at around 220° for a few hours. Temp wasn't too quick to rise. Put my cast iron grill pan on the gas side and let it rip at 500° while waiting to get to 115°. Made a quick rosemary garlic butter to hit it with while searing. Pulled at 225°. Now it's tented but I can already tell it's going to be ridiculously good. Glad I sorta kinda followed your method.
