That moment between Coach Hammon and Coach Pop was incredible. The mutual love and respect was so clear.

Congratulations Becky, as a big WNBA fan myself, I always been a fan of yours. You're a great WNBA player and a great assistant for the San Antonio Spurs. You deserve to be in the Hall of Famer

I hope people see this speech. I had never heard her speak before. I literally had tears in my eyes at one point. It really felt like listening to a civil rights icon at 40. I felt like I could see her battle scars. It would be cool to see her do color commentary like Walt Frazier does now. He talks about segregation and stuff on broadcast and it's always so interesting.

Congrats Becky! You're a trailblazer and can't wait to see you as the first female NBA coach. That moment with Pop was special. He's a special human being. May God bless you both always.

Becky Hammon is a phenomenal person and coach and she is truly deserving of this honor. She is doing an incredible job coaching the Las Vegas Aces who are on track to win at least 35 games in this 40 game season with their elite defensive schemes and offensive scoring. I believe she will lead them to become the first WNBA team in probably decades to win back-to-back titles

An absolute legend.
I remember when she became a coach for the Spurs. No surprise, based on who she is and who Pop and the Spurs are. But we were all absolutely thrilled and hopeful that the change we all hoped for could actually come one day... that women could be respected for who we are, even in sport.

Honestly, there is plenty of room in basketball for folks with immeasurable traits like passion and grit. Such traits fuel tenacity and perseverance. Hammon is proof of that! I remember suggesting to Finley over the phone that he get Pop/Spurs to look at Hammon. Greatness! Mavs ManiAAC 2003-2015

it is hard to imagine that anyone but Popovich would have accepted her at the time. Not an assiduous NBA fan, I had never heard of her. She did have a remarkable career I found out. Even politics came into play when she played for Russia after refused even a tryout with the US team. She has guts.

There could be an implicit target in her comment about her parents being in Africa maybe "hunting and killing animals". Of course they were not doing that, but some famous people still do that.

Don't think Becky is a fan of her parents. How could they miss something like this and go hunting! WTF! 🏀🇬🇧

If you're crying about why a woman, particularly this woman, is going into the HOF...
1st- Grow up and start being a man.
2nd- Literally look at her accomplishments and stats, they speak for themselves.
3rd- She was apart of the Spurs as an assistant and head coach... if you didn't know that then its obv that you weren't paying attention to basketball, bc it was known every time the Spurs played.

If you think that isnt also a reason why she shouldn't be in the hall of fame... then that means you think everyone on the Boston Celtics, Bill Russel, and AI's era shouldn't be in the HOF, bc they were inducted for the things they went through as a black person and being the first of many to play. If you dont believe in that then you don't believe in your favorite players bc they wouldnt be in the NBA if it wasn't for them. They were inducted for breaking barriers... and winning and putting up accomplishments... She did the same thing yet the only difference is that shes a woman and yall mad as hell. Yall need help. God bless.
