Jay Graydon - Roxann (AOR Guitar Cover)

Happy New Year! My second cover from Jay's amazing 'Airplay for the Planet' album, an album that I think is the pinnacle in sonic production and AOR songwriting and instrumentation. And although the album features one of my favourite vocalists ever in Joseph Williams, amongst many other talents, it's the late Warren Wiebe tracks that I think are the standouts, this being the highlight of the album for me, easily. Apart from Jay's incredible solo complimenting Wiebe's beautiful voice, there isn't any other guitar so I wasn't sure how to cover it, which is why this wasn't my first cover from the album. I decided to try and tastefully add some muted parts and I took a couple of cues from Jay himself and Sherwood Ball when they played this live (that version featuring co-writer Bill Cantos on vocals). They add a cool Al Jarreau 'Mornin'' sounding part in the chorus which I play the second time round. If you're not familiar with the album, check it out. One of my favourite songs of all time is on it, 'When You Look In My Eyes'.
I use a Charvel DK24 (it's purple) into a Boss Me50 into a Palmer Pdi-09 into a Focusrite Scarlett into my computer running Logic Pro X.
F.A.Q. - I keep my headphones like that so they stay out the way. The cable is very long.
