Patty, I love your comments, I wear full makeup everyday like you, People stop me once in a while and tell me I look pretty, I think they do that because I am old and wear nice clothes, they are shocked that an old lady looks nice in a grocery store or wherever. I’m 72 and taught high school and college for 47 years. I wore the highest heel/boots, expensive blazers, leather plenty of makeup. Probably the only teacher in the building who did. It’s hard now but this video really helped me. Bravo, Patti!

I enjoyed this tremendously. God is using you as inspiration. My mom died at 84 and the funeral home asked if it was ok not to redo her makeup and nails. They said they could not do it that well. I never remember getting up and her not looking like June Cleaver or Donna Reed. Make up on, hair combed to perfection and her "house dress" on and cooking breakfast. No matter how sick she was in her latter life she always had make up on.

Patti, I’m facing this at 10 years younger than you. It was a swift and surprising change beginning at 65. I have experienced everything you discussed. I had felt pushed into the background as well as white hair changed my look. So I went blonde and white instead of mousy and white. I wear makeup and dress nicely albeit more casually. I’m still me smiling under my mask, bubbly and chatty. I make an effort to leave behind an aknowledgement or a compliment that may brighten someone’s day. We are the ones to shape our lives and I’m also determined to not fade away.

Patti, you are the reason I started wearing makeup more often again. At 82 I started to decide I was too old to do anymore. You and Nanny made me realize I always loved makeup, pretty clothes and I started making up my face again. My beautiful granddaughters noticed right away that they had their “sassy” grandma back; their words…lol Thank you so much for reminding me who I am and hopefully will continue to be until the Lord comes to get me to join my sweet husband. We were married 50 years.

I’ve got to tell you I was in such a slump, My hair and my eye lashes thinned significantly due to a medical issue . I focused on the negative thinking how bad is this going to get. I didn’t even want to go to the grocery store. I started watching your videos and started playing in front of the mirror. I use eye liners now and take more time with my overall face makeup. I just turned 51 and I absolutely adore watching you!!! You give me hope that as I age I can stay relevant. I noticed several years ago that the attention I once received was gone. I am 72 and so appreciate this. I have 3 grandsons that I still play basketball and baseball with and of course I feed them so that makes them pretty happy with me. I keep my hair platinum and get it done every week and keep all my nail/pedicure appointments. Love your message... I'm with you! Cute story: My husband found a photo of his grandmother taken at her retirement . She was around 64 years old... White hair, tight curls, pearls, and a frumpy dress. He laughed and said, " You know, my grandmother was younger than you are now when this was taken." My response: " I know, and I'll bet she wasn't wearing leather pants either!" I will fight the age thing forever...with dignity and fun!❤️♥️♥️

i have been a silent viewer for about a year now. i just have to say i absolutely love your personality and you remind me so much of how my grandma was. she loved clothes and jewelry too. i'm realizing over the years as well how much even at 41 i was /have been influenced by her sense of style. i tend to love all the bright colors, bold patterns, blingy/colorful/big jewelry ... thank you so much for reminding all of us that at any age we never have to settle for just being in the background <3 !

Hi Patti, I will soon be 90. They tell me I don’t look my age. I am so with you on not fading into the background. I still wear make up and do my best to dress well. I recently went to dinner with a grandson. I dressed up and put on glitzy sandals. Had positive comments. I enjoy watching you and have learned so much about putting on makeup.
