Toyota needs to just stick with Mazda, Subaru, and Suzuki. As for Honda, good thing the GM partnership ended and I hope they go forward with Nissan and Mitsubishi, and hopefully Renault gets kicked out of the alliance

Kia EV9: GM saw the masterpiece. Understood they could never compete against it. "Can't beat them, join them."

One car company In common hyundai, looks like everyone one to be part of hyundai, which makes sense, it looks like every 3 years they have a new car, 3rd world best selling car without the China market and Russia due to political reasons. I knew it I have been driving hyundai car since 2013, I will keep driving them until I can't drive anymore.

The news of General Motors collaborating with South Korean automakers is not surprising, given their existing production facilities in the country. However, the potential partnership between Toyota and Hyundai is intriguing. Toyota has been closely monitoring Hyundai's technological advancements, and such a collaboration could yield significant mutual benefits in terms of technology transfer and knowledge sharing.

Well they Hyundai/KIA have also developed solid state batteries, so instead of Toyota needing to create their own, partnering with them would make more sense.

My guess is that Toyota wants to use their ev platforms. Either way it’s amazing news. Hope Hyundai can use Toyota’s ecvt and e-awd on their hybrids

At this point, honestly, Toyota and Honda should be getting the rest of the market companies up to snuff with there hybrid endeavors. I think Hyundai will end up doing well with hybrids and we're already seeing Mazda, and soon to be Subaru, being helped by Toyota.

I had a conversation few months back with couple of guys about this kind of merge/collab happening. My argument was Hyundai/KIA has EV tech, while japanese makers has more established brand. Guys thought I was crazy. But now it's really happening. Korean and Japanese makers need this kind of collaboration, to stay competitive with Chinese market.

Nissan needs to change their supplier when it comes to transmissions. I don’t know why they haven’t figured that out yet. Jatco is literally hurting their brand.

Akio probably drove the i5N and thought it was legit. Toyota could probably use the help in engineering fun EVs.

GM are trolling every automaker they can. Luckily, so far, Honda has told them to go away.

GM will ruin Hyundai again… I really hope Hyundai doesn’t go with any of GM‘s bullshit.. that little company has made the biggest stripes I’ve ever seen in a car company… I would hate to see them fall..
