Comedians are the most disrespected artists in the world. They get no respect. I've seen Godfrey working at his craft since the 90s. Constantly doing shows. He is a headliner and has the right to curate what his show looks like and who's on the bill. If T.I. was really serious about comedy, he'd be a bit more humble and not step on people's toes...like popping onto their shows.

PS, I've seen T.I. stand up. It's not funny. He gets polite laughs because he's T.I. Godfrey is right to not want that dragging his show

They completely missed the point that you should not be going on after the headliner. If the roles were reversed that T.I. was headlining a concert and Godfrey was trying his hand at music, then I’m sure T.I. would flip if Godfrey went on after him. Loni, Adrienne, and MC lyte should know this.

He is not hating. It’s not ego. It wasn’t meant to be words of encouragement. Godfrey is right. T. I. handled it right but he should have went before Godfrey. It’s about respect.

Nobody goes on after the headliner, bottom line. These women are choosing a side based on popularity. In the comedy world the show is over after the headliner PERIOD! Doesn’t matter who you are, how talented you are, etc.

I totally disagree with them. I feel like people aren’t respecting the comedy craft and everyone thinks they can do it. He wasn’t putting him on blast he was sharing his feelings on an interview. They’re only saying this because it’s TI. I would expect Loni out of all to understand this.

I completely disagree with the ladies because I don't see this as an ego thing at all. It seems like Godfrey issue is that T.I. went on AFTER him and performed even though Godfrey is the headliner. I don't think he would have an issue with it if T.I. came on BEFORE him and did his thing but, to come on after is kind of stepping on toes and shows a lack of respect to whoever the headliner is. Yes, T.I. is a name, and, if you're the owner of that club you can still his use name to sell tickets and be respectful of the veteran comedians by allowing him to perform before the headliner. It's all about respect imo.

I'm surprised Adrienne and MC Lyte don't see things from Godfrey's pov since they're in the music industry. The headliner (comedy/music) performs LAST. They close the show. They're the ones everyone paid good money to see. TI should have gone on BEFORE Godfrey. I don't condone his actions because that was a private discussion that should have happened with the club owner and TI. Not social media. But I do understand Godfrey's frustrations.

This is an example of how The Real needs to start making sure the hosts understand context when they do these hot topics. Loni is the only one that ever checks the facts and she’s stuck correcting everyone and pushing the conversation in the right direction.

Godfrey didn’t say it like that. He didn’t say nothing wrong, he been a comedian for like 30 yrs . And Godfrey don’t watch no one sets, which multiple comedians stated that. I’ll feel some kind of way too, if I’m the headliner. I get TI the bigger name, but that don’t make it right. TI have to realize this is not rap lol

i wouldn't call it hater, i understand why but some people are very sensitive about their craft . if you are apart of the comedy world you know that " paying your dues" is a big deal to these people. they are very big on grinding your way up from the small venues, and small clubs to touring to working your way up to bigger venues, its really a respect thing. so for godfrey who probably worked his ass of to get to this level of notoriety . he probably doesn't like someone just up there strictly based off fame and not talent or maybe doesn't have the same respect for the craft as he think someone he should open for does( he prolly think this is a money grab for T.I), and the difference is loni is a nice sweet woman and the men in the comedy world are known to be not that nice and take it very very seriously and aren't sweet about it .

He closed out his show & thinking everyone is talking about his set & t.i use his celebrity to get on the stage of a finished show & do jokes. Wonder why people in pop culture don't like the media? This was out of context &Godfrey, 20 year veteran, explained in a podcast that he respects TI& it was wisest to let him on stage to show unity. They even hung out afterwards. Both TI and Godfrey both said TI isn't a "comedian". TI claimed "entertainer"or creative, a label beyond"rapper" and took no offense as he's trying to make inroads to promote new comedians in his circle. Why spin this as a squabble? Click counts.
