Whosoever Will (Weekly Hymn Project)

Показать описание
Today's hymn is "Whosoever Will".
I would suspect that this is one of Mr. Bliss' most famous hymns that he wrote the words and music for. Such a wonderful proclamation that I hope people understand. People won't be separated from God because He doesn't extend grace to them, but because they reject Him. I would be curious of Mr. Bliss' background, as he had the tone of security like some theology's preach ("Whosoever will," the promise is secure") while also including that the promise comes with a condition ("Whosoever will," forever must endure). What I would consider the great debate of Christendom - Calvinism vs. Armenianism, if you will. And I would agree with how his words are sounding. Not either/or but elements of both. Whosoever will may come to Christ - I hope that is you.
Lyrics:
“Whosoever heareth,” shout, shout the sound!
Spread the blessed tidings all the world around;
Tell the joyful news wherever man is found:
“Whosoever will may come.”
[Refrain]
“Whosoever will, whosoever will,”
Send the proclamation over vale and hill;
’Tis a loving Father calls the wand’rer home:
“Whosoever will may come.”
Whosoever cometh need not delay,
Now the door is open, enter while you may;
Jesus is the true, the only Living Way:
“Whosoever will may come.”
“Whosoever will,” the promise secure,
“Whosoever will,” forever must endure;
“Whosoever will,” ’tis life forevermore:
“Whosoever will may come.”
