I actually know a fair bit about MLK, obviously I always knew about his civil rights stance and I thought it was quite obvious he wasn’t a war hawk but I always thought saying he was a communist was rumors and hearsay whenever the “which side of politics would he be on today” debate starts

It sounds like some Bernie shit (I like him, but he confuses social democracy and democratic socialism). When the workers own the means of production, there is no capitalism. I think you mean markets? - but those can be in socialism (you can have market socialism, planned socialism, and market capitalism or planned capitalism).
