3D object verification with Ensenso and HALCON for Embedded Vision

In April 2018, IDS presented an example for "3D object verification" at the international trade fair for quality assurance "Control 2018" in Stuttgart. The demo system reconstructs objects with an Ensenso N35 3D camera and performs a data comparison using HALCON image processing. For this purpose, the generated 3D data is compared with a reference model in order to detect deviations or defects. 3D image processing detects irregularities or minimal deviations on test objects that are not even visible to human eyes. The quality of manufactured objects can be significantly improved for subsequent process steps by high-precision digitization with 3D cameras from Ensenso and subsequent image processing for object verification.
