Frankfurt Christmas Market Viewed From the Alte Nikolai Gallery

The Alte Nikolai has been watching over the Römerburg since 1290. The Gallery where I am filming was once reserved for VIPs to watch the Coronation party for the Holy Roman Emperors as well as Passion Plays and Jousting Tournaments.
The stairs are very, very old and as you can hear, I was basically hugging the wall going up them, so please excuse the sound of my coat rubbing the walls.

The Carillon of 47 bells that we hear at the end of the video, plays automatically 3 times a day: 09:05, 12:05, and 17:05. On Wed. they are played at 12:10 for about 45 minutes, by Yuko Tajima.

hi. you mentioned the tower is about 600 years old...before columbus and crew set sail! when walking up steps like that i try to reflect on those that came before...and those that will climb them in the future. thanks for your work, it is much appreciated.
