Healthy Seas and Ghost Diving, organised a momentous project in July, to clean up #ghostnets off the HMS Perseus wreck, which, since WWII, has been laying at the bottom of the Ionian Sea, in Greece.

If you get excited about the underwater world, history, or wreck #diving, you don't want to miss this 3-part video which tells the story of one of the largest submarines of WWII and shows the tremendous feat of 6 #volunteer technical divers who swam against the currents and overcame exhaustion, but ultimately succeeded in unveiling the sub's emblematic conning tower.

Thank you from an ex British matelot. So many war graves are now disappearing these days due to unscrupulous scrap merchants. It warms the heart to see someone doing some good now and again.

The ocean critters will be much happier they don't have to worry about getting caught up in those nets. Excellent work!

What if we raise the ship? only 52 meters is shallow enough to perfom an operation.

imagine the number of fishermen who wondered why their nets were stuck, not knowing it was grappling to a giant, 70 year old WWII era submarine wreck.

Good job, but I hope there wasn't too much sea life disturbed. I'm sure there was sea life attached to those nets.
On another note, I'd much rather have a voice over/narration rather than the captioning. That way I could continually keep my attention on the video and not have to keep missing sections of video while reading the caption. Pausing the video is about as bad as reading the caption while the video continues.

Spot on should be done more often and fishermen fined for lost nets !

Nets are the bane of shipwrecks. It costs fishermen a fortune and makes exploration dangerous. Now divers can explore the wreck. but leave it alone.
