This was likely made by MBHO (Mikrofonbau Obrigheim), a small German manufacturer. They make high quality condensers at relatively affordable prices, many are being used in churches in Germany. They also produced microphones for DUAL, Strässer, amongst others. It might be possible to convert the microphone to 48V.

Yeah this is exactly what a pencil mic sounds like in my mind

Sounds almost like bad shielding on the cables. It was definitely picking up some sort of transformer or PWM power supply noise.

I've noticed I get that buzzing from the Rodecaster when my camera is connected via hdmi capture card to computer. On phone recordings I get it when charging while recording.
The mic might sound good without that noise.

How did you secure that skinny little mic in that shock mount? It looks like it's made for much larger mics.

Have you tried using a star quad XLR cable to see if that helps? At least with the microphones that don't have a built-in cable.

For a bit I believe you were possessed by Jonathan Winters.

You're on a roll this week! I'm afraid I'd have to pass on this one, but the Rube Goldberg aspects are pretty amusing.

doesn't sound bad, off-axis is great but, it would be a PITA. :)

Is there any part/model number on the box? I have an old Telefunken with the same connector and I'm now wondering if one of those would work (if I could even find one.)
