Fimi X8 Mini Jello Effect - Why & how to reduce it.

**Oops... I say Gyro a lot when I mean Gimbal!**
The Fimi X8 Mini produces jello or shake under certain conditions. Learn to recognize them and what can help somewhat.
I flew at least a dozen flights putting this together over a 10 day period. I have heard of similar situations and even some with testers of the new X8SE 2022 version. (JMO).. It's a cold blooded little unit.
All calibrations were done after updates and the compass was calibrated each day.
I will have more on the 2013E & the 1.0.10 App updates later.

I live in Brazil, a hot country.
In the last year in the months for August until November I had the same problem of jello with Fimi X8 Mini.
I sent the black box for Fimi and I didn't have a good response about that issue.
I got it that problem just happens in the months of winter and spring.
The jello issue it was solved no update in the last year after that seasons.
But, in the last weekend the jello issue happened again, it's winter over here in Brazil.
The temperature it's under 18° and 20° Celsius degree and the problem appears.

Now you validated my thoughts especially the 1st time I flew in -5 degree Celsius and got worse the closer I was to the iced river surface I flew over. Though I also got little jello at 30 Deg Celsius when descending the drone and that could had been fixed with the gimbal compensation

That does make sense that it could be what the rubber dampeners are made of. The composition of the material used. When it gets past a certain temperature the dampeners harden up and are not soft anymore, thus creating vibration and jello.

Hi from Turkey. I did not have the same problem after I started recording video with 1080p 60fps option. Maybe it has to do with the video resolution. Because 4k shooting also gives me a jello problem :( Regards, thanks for the video

Thanks a lot, very informative. It also happened to me in Iceland so it must be cold, I dont know if wind conditions make it worse, but cold definitely seems a problem. In any case it should operate well with that cold, I wonder if there is already a fix or it is a hardware-only issue.

I had the same problem with my A3... And the resolution to the problem is to turn the drone on and let it sit for at least a couple of minutes and warm up significantly and then take off.... This solved the problem for my A3 so I'm sure that it will for the X8 the X8SE2020 and the X8 Mini.

The Zino Mini Pro is a better option for you because it overheats making ideal in the cold.

Have you tried storing the FIMI in a sealed box with silica gel in the airing cupboard . I had a problem with camera fogging and this cured the problem. It could be a moisture problem

jello is something i have not experienced with my fimi, ive had a slight toilet bowling from takeoff and them recently the camera fogging up.im now waiting for my new craft to arrive, hopefully it has no issues

My vote goes to the composition of the dampeners, anyway that was my first thought once temperature came into play.

Olá, boa noite. Moro no Brasil e estou com o mesmo problema no meu Fimi x8 mini, o gimbal treme em todas as direções, impossivel gravar vídeos. Tem centenas, talvez milhares de pessoas com problemas parecidos e a Xiaomi não resolve isso para os seus clientes. Lamentável. Agradeço a você por postar esse vídeo e compartilhar suas experiências. I have the same problem with my Fimi X8 Mini, the problem starts at about +3 degrees Celsius. I think it has to do with the cables to the camera becoming stiff due to the cold, but of course I'm not sure.

From what I have seen around YouTube, this Fimi Mini X8 drone is a loser. I refuse to buy a Hubsan or Fimi drone.
