Portaitissa to the Katholikon 08 2017

Στις 28 Αυγούστου (15 με το παλαιό ημερολόγιο), εορτή της Κοιμήσεως της Θεοτόκου, πανηγυρίζει η Ιερά Μονή Ιβήρων. Πριν αρχίσει η μεγάλη αγρυπνία (που διαρκεί πάνω από 13 ώρες), η θαυματουργός εικόνα της Παναγίας της Πορταΐτισσας μεταφέρεται από το εκκλησάκι της στο Καθολικό (τον κεντρικό ναό της Μονής), όπου θα παραμείνει μέχρι την επόμενη Δευτέρα.

On August 28th (15th according to the Old Style), the Feast of the Dormition of Theotokos, the main feast of the Holy Monastery of Iveron is celebrated. Before the All-night vigil (lasting more than 13 hours) begins, the miraculous icon of Panagia Portaitissa is transferred from its chapel to the Katholikon (the main church of the Monastery), where it will stay until next Monday.
