2016 Malibu, I’ve had the code P1101 for about a year even though the car drove perfectly fine. I tried 5-6 other suggestions and the code always came back immediately. This finally fixed it.

Bro you are the man! I changed my bulbs on my 17 Malibu and the same code came up. I followed your steps and cleaned the MAF sensor first. Still had the light. Cleaned the throttle body and after riding around and turning it back on. Problem fixed. Saved me hundreds because my local shop told me I had to replace the MAF sensor. Thanks & subscribed

This video saved me yesterday. Once I cleaned the throttle body plate my car was running better. The notification I got was engine decreased power. After cleaning the plate the check engine code cleared itself after 3 to 4 times of turning the car on and off. Thanks again.🤝👍

Thank u so much bro I have a 2016 Chevy Malibu and I spent the whole summer tryin to get rid of this code I changed both 02 sensors all sparks plugs and mas flow sensor and it still was throwing the damn code watched your video last DIY chance and she was goin to the shop 9.99 for the can light been off for a month now when it would come on at a quater tank of gas left good video bro thanks again

I gotta say 9 times out of 10 it’ll most likely be the throttle body/air intake, the MAF might be a contributor yeah but that intake gets pretty damn dirty, I had that issue before but it was overall my battery that needed to be changed, but today after a bit of stalling I cleaned my MAF sensor and then the throttle body/air intake which was quite dirty, and now no more service light💯 glad to see both vids pointing this out!

This was a life saver I was told I needed a new turbo lol and it would be 2k bec there was a clog somewhere. I did this btw the directions for this are different but you should still do it this way. Changed all my filters and finally changed my battery bec it was due and the codes cleared nothing pending and my car passed this stupid ass car is turning me into a mechanic lol also used the stp valve cleaner as well as saw immediate improvement in my car overall once this all was done

After cleaning also check the o ring on the hose connected to the throttle body. Could be tripping the code cuz it’s not a good seal, was getting a rough idle/stall when accelerating but seems to be better now.

Tried cleaning the MAF sensor first but it didn't work. This however seems to have fixed it! Thanks for the video.

Thank you so much. My 2016 Chevy Cruze LS check engine light is on and am getting a code P1101. So I changed the filter with a K&N high end. I cleaned the MAF sensor and did a smoke test. Nothing work. In my mind, I was thinking I had a issue was a dirty throttle body. All i wanted to know was how to remove the boot that sits on top of the trottle body. So I am excited. All I needed was a screwdriver.
