This video shows everything you need to know to be able to safely use a 2 post lift with any vehicle on the planet and without damage to your vehicle. I teach you where to lift depending on what type of vehicle you have and all of the little safety points that will prevent damage to you, your vehicle , and your hoist. Gearhead level 2 status guaranteed!

This is another episode of a brand new series on how to become a GEARHEAD! If you have ever wondered how people know so much about cars and are absolutely crazy about anything with a motor, then this is a great series for you. This is geared towards people that have no knowledge of cars but want to learn; however, the content in my videos does try to make solid connections between theory and practical applications so even seasoned gearheads will find the info useful.

So share the channel with friends that love cars, trucks, motorcycles, scooters, and anything else that goes Vroom Vroom!!! This channel is all about helping people learn how to fix their own cars, save their money, and finding a passion for working with their hands!

If you have any questions about lifting a vehicle or the new series, please feel free to comment and I will get back to you as soon as possible. Time me....

I normally don't watch safety videos. They are usually so obvious ie safety glasses, gloves, etc. But this one was really informative with some good basic instructions. Well Done!

Well done. I wasn't going to watch this but I did. You covered everything perfectly. Every person who uses a lift should watch this and all new users should definitely watch this.

I'm 50 and about to use one of these for the first time in my life.
There's no way my pride would have allowed me to ask a bunch of "dumb" rookie questions to the other guys and I most likely would have done something dangerous had I not seen this video.
Thank you for making this and providing all the little details for safe/effective operation.

I’ve worked lifts most of my life but just got a personal one and this was a fantastic refresher. Thorough and without unnecessary dead spots while you’re doing the task. Well done!

Lifts are beginning to be more common in average garages and I’m surprised that there isn’t more info out there about them. Thank you for your time and info.

Thanks! My dad built a garage and installed a two post lift a while back. He showed me once how to use it a while back, ended up doing an oil change today on jack stands since he wasn't home and I wasn't confident. Saving this video for the next time im doing something over there and need to get it up in the air.

Thank you so much. I started auto 3 weeks ago, intro to auto electronics and intro to auto. I missed so much work because I I didn't have access to a computer after-school hours and I have class all day. I'm finally bought a laptop and I'm trying to pack all of this in a short amount of time. I have my lift certificate already, but it was a short lesson. And takes way too long to tell you this and its much better to see it in action with detail just like in real life. The thing about this school is that every class gives you this and that to do online on you're own. These modules can just show students videos like this, wayy more informative and helpful. Maybe I'm just stupid, but I haven't gone to school since 2019. I'm full time and get no sleep. I love it here tho, and I want to help people and strive to learn more. I was never a garage guy, but this challenge is something I want to overcome. I sometimes think I made a mistake, I hope I succeed.

Great video, Thank you for taking the time to make it. I just picked up a used mowhawk 9k lift in great condition. A friend and me just installed it yesterday. Install was not as hard as it seemed. I had a pad made with 11" of concrete where the columns would go. The only thing I'm concerned with the Mowhawk is the releasing cable .You have to go to both columns to release the locks. Otherwise the lift is overbuilt. Thanks for the tutorial.

Thanks allot for the instruction video. The US Gov-Garage gave me little training on this lift, your literally a life saver. I'm going to refer this video if you don't mind. That Lift book you showed sure would come in handy for me, and I'm going get one. Thanks again.

Great confidence instilling video. One of the best and most thorough videos on actually using a 2 post above ground lift. I've seen one thing you could have specifically added, which should be caught by your very first point about having a professional inspect the lift annually, is if you don't hear the locks click perfectly synchronized as you go up you should stop, put the vehicle down and take the lift out of service till it is fixed (simple fix but very important).

I have been doing all my own vehicle repairs and maintenance at ground level and that's getting old (should have bought one 15 years ago) so I've been preparing myself for a lift in my personal garage.

Looking forward to future content.

Cheers!

Great Job, I'll give you an A+ on your lesson today ! That's almost verbatim what I was told when I started working at a shop that had a lift before I was allowed to use it and that was about the year 1957. Thanks for sharing !
