A Day in the Life - Dive Rescue

preview_player
Показать описание
Ride along with South Metro Dive 31 to a simulated water rescue incident at Cherry Creek State Park for a reported kayaker underwater. This Dive Alert 3 response was a surprise to all of the crews who responded non-emergent to the reservoir and operated as if a real drowning victim needed to be rescued. The collaboration with Colorado Parks and Wildlife was invaluable to SMFR personnel and better prepared our organizations for real emergencies. Remember, life jackets save lives.

As someone that worked at a boat shop in hs/college and now owns boats, another issue I often see is people burying there life jackets in compartments with junk over them. There should be dedicated lifevest compartments on every boat and nothing should obstruct access to those life jackets.

Bonus points for that trailer work on the Rescue! Great work working to the boat launch.

Great Training SMFR!
I just posted my video of your recent dive Rescue at Chatfield.
It was great to see the behind the scenes Training of what I filmed.

Big Thanks to PIO Willie for talking at the command post.

Excellent video for the uninitiated or new person perspective. I am a former F/fighter- Medic as well as dive rescue qualified, but all of my rescue/recovery dives were all in Alaska, thus all were cold water/ ice dives and I wore fleece undies and a pretty good DUI dry suit for just about every dive!

Why doesn’t south metro work with state parks and build a small fire bait station at this lake to help reduce response times?

Side scan sonar would help pin point the victim and speed recovery. I know this is for dramatic effect though. Nice equipment, 1000% better than we had at Summit County Water Rescue back in the 80s and 90s. Stay Safe!! lol my bad didn’t watch to the end you did utilize the side scan. We were just getting that back in the 99s it’s come along way.
