Electro-Harmonix Deluxe Memory Man 550-TT

The Electro-Harmonix Deluxe Memory Man 550 Tap Tempo is the answer for guitarists who want a genuine BBD delay with every bit of today's functionality. This hybrid version of the iconic Deluxe Memory Man retains analog warmth from NOS BBD IC's while a digitally controlled circuit allows for 6 Tap Tempo modes and expression control of every parameter. With just over 600ms of delay and more available in Tap mode, the EH DMM 550-TT can cover both vintage and modern delay sounds. Plus, Electro-Harmonix incorporates a wet signal FX loop for further delay manipulation and sonic experimentation.

5:24 is the most beautiful thing I've ever heard in a PGS demo. For just those ten seconds or so, I was in love.

I would probably just be to paralyzed trying to figure out how to run this thing, but definitely one the best demos I've seen in a long time.

I think the POG with a lower mix of the wet signal gives that magical touch, the way it's demoed here is in the vein of the Bowie + Viconti + Fripp + Eno Eventide craziness

The DD-20 is a fantastic pedal. Its been on my pedalboard for years.

I've got a DD-20 and love it... sure, it's not a Memory Man, nor is it analog, but don't underestimate its versatility, ease of use and storable presets. Have fun with it! :-)

"New Old Stock" generally refers to out of production components that haven't been implemented or used, e.g., BBD chips, capacitors, and tubes.

My favorite PGS review yet. Awesome guitar work & pedal.

This pedal does some cool stuff with the tap tempo and beat divide and also the fx loop. Expression pedal is cool if you don't want to bend down to tweak params. But I'm glad I found a Boss DM-3 for $40 (12 years ago), that can do the same bbd analog sounds and also the lofi ring mod sound with slower times, but without the modulation. The only other pricey delay pedals I have lust for are that TC Flashback, the Strymon delay or Eventide Timefactor, or the Boss RE-20. 1 analog, 1 digital.

i find it really neat that andy likes to use G&L in his demos

flock of seagulls, great way to show possibilities of a delay unit!

i do agree with you that just because the gear is cheaper doesn't mean it sounds crap. my favourite flanger of all time is a mij boss hf-2 that i picked up for 70 bucks. and i've run the gauntlet with flangers, both boutique and mass-produced. the other day i picked out a joyo us dream distortion pedal for my drummer. if i was in need of another dirt pedal, i would've picked one up for myself. so believe me, i'm not biased towards brand/price/manufacture, i like what sounds good.

I'm kinda of sad that no one noticed the Pink Floyd song in the beginning. I mean come on David Gilmour is the king of tone!
