One of the great singer/songwriters of the 20th century who has just turned 80 years old. Just to listen to her talking about her music is lyrical.

This is one of the most candid interviews that I've found of Joni, it would have been nice if it could have been longer. I think she's always been someone people could fall easily in love with.

"To make an ideal communication, to get close to the truth of anything, you have to be able to address yourself to at least four spirits. There has to be something there for the heart, there has to be something there for the intellect, there has to be something there for sensuality and sensation, and there has to be some wit: some things that are direct hits, brief and clear. And if you get the right amount of those vegetables into the broth, then it's satisfying to me personally."

Joni creates amazing colours with music. Funny, I say this and remember she is also a painter. Wonderful. ☺️

How to write “good” music?! What does that even mean? (And for fuckssake mansplainers.. that doesn’t mean “not the crap they make today” 🥱)

Jeez the 80s were not kind to artists from the 60s 😂 the hair the clothes. Even Joni wasn’t immune.
