Eating what he wants and still making 155 Ibs is part of his gimmick. [How do you lose that weight]

No wonder Paddy ain't been showing any technical improvements throughout his career, his training camps are mostly about getting his weight down.

Nobody’s talking about the real threat - this guy’s haircut. That will ruin a career quicker than anything

He has said recently that he doesn't plan on getting super fat again, so I guess he could focus more on his technique rather than losing weight during his fight camp.

Always said these weight cuts effect his ability to develop techniques to his true potential

“I think I’ve got an eating disorder because of mma” is a lovely excuse. I understand how difficult it is cutting weight, but it’s not because of mma. I’ve heard people talking about how there needs to be more weight classes, and that’s probably not a terrible idea. The other option would be to fight in the weight class that you naturally walk around at, but that comes with a different issue. You definitely have to be structured and have self discipline in this sport.

Since this is professional sport and not high school wrestling, the solution should be rather than let the fighters decide what weight class they think they can cut to have the doctor assign them to a weight class when they get their physical for the license. Do periodic weight checks and they have to be within a certain percentage of fight weight. if they're consistently over then they get assigned the next class up.

It is a type of eating disorder, been there myself. Having to watch what u eat sometimes for whatever reason with periods of eating what u want will often result in excessive binge eating when it's allowed & that's hard to control, especially if u love food & gets harder the older u get.

and paddy isn’t the biggest 155’er. honestly if he wants to hang with the big boys of the lightweight division he needs to stay disciplined and keep his weight no higher than 180. getting up to 205 and still fighting at 155 is just gonna fuck him up

I know this is an older post, but yours is the first YouTube channel I’ve come across that says how they’d like the channel to be. I like that!
Am I allowed to say that his haircuts are awful, but the way he dealt with that shagging question regarding Molly was very respectful and chilled out. So I liked that. I don’t know enough about him yet to comment on his fighting style so that’s all I’ve got.
Anywayyy, I’ve subbed. Seems like a good channel.
Cheers buddy! 😊

His weight won't ruin his career....
His attitude and lack of fighting skill is taking care of that task in RAPID detail

Imagine being a collegiate limb-twister in the days of yore. God I knew so many old wrestlers who were so fucked after having spent ages 10-22 enduring a six to ten month seasonal competition schedule going week to week in a cycle of massive cut, balloon up, massive cut, balloon up, massive cut, balloon up, so on, so forth.

They're not typically intervals of 50 pounds, but 20 pound pendulum swings from Sunday morning to Thursday evening, & gaining five & losing five on Friday... on to Saturday morning, five or ten earned & burned depending on how hard of a day, how crazy a kid got after weighing in, how many matches, etcetera. Then in college, that extra tournament day on Sunday meant weighing in again on Sunday morning, all before the madness rinsed & repeated. This cycle was once common for guys competing at the bantamweight, lightweight, middleweight, welterweight classes, and obviously dipped in scale proportionate with body size, etc.

Weight cutting has largely been phased out, for the better of the sport. Guys still cut a bit here and there, but those kids who came of age wrasslin from the sport's early universal scholastic availability of the 70s on to about the 2000-2010 decade were well acquainted with the culture.

the way i see it he is happy enough and in time he will start to realise the weight cut becomes more difficult with age. the upside to this is because he fights at lightweight he can easily move up to welterweight and have a go there for a while and he can only improve considering he will have to cut less so he will naturally feel better throughout. I say good luck to the guy!

Iv had a very fluctuant weight, im 35, managed to get back in shape, only for a blood test to tell me iv stuffed my heart an arteries, easy to lose weight, almost impossible to unclog arteries

Love him or hate him. You have to respect his weight cut and he’s still looking fresher then ever after every weight cut 😂

Whether it's healthy or not depends on the genetics of the person. It can be perfectly fine for some people. Humans developed to eat as much as they could in plentiful times to then survive on fat stores in leaner times but that was a slow transition I'm not sure about doing this quickly.

when you’re cutting 50 pounds in a, let’s say 6-12 week camp, where’s the time to actually train for the fight?
